As part of our growth, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer/Stock Controller to join our team in Manchester.
The Role
As our Buyer/Stock Controller, you will be at the heart of our operations, ensuring that our products are sourced sustainably, stock levels are optimised, and supply chains run smoothly. This role is perfect for someone with a strong eye for detail, excellent negotiation skills, and a passion for sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement and Supplier Management:
- Source and purchase cleaning and hygiene products, ensuring sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Ensure suppliers comply with Ideal 365 Ltd.’s Supplier Code of Conduct and Modern Slavery Policy.
- Stock Management:
- Monitor stock levels to meet client demand while minimising overstock and waste.
- Use inventory management systems to track and forecast stock requirements.
- Ensure accurate and timely stock rotation.
- Sustainability and Compliance:
- Prioritise environmentally friendly sourcing aligned with ISO 14001 and Planet Mark goals.
- Ensure adherence to UK legal standards, including the Modern Slavery Act.
- Cost and Budget Management:
- Analyse market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage budgets for procurement and stock control.
- Logistics and Coordination:
- Coordinate deliveries and liaise with the warehouse team to ensure efficient stock handling.
- Maintain accurate records and data on inventory and supplier performance.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience in procurement, buying, or stock control (janitorial sector experience preferred).
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices (e.g., ISO 14001).
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
- A commitment to ethical sourcing and sustainability.
