Percival are excited to be working exclusively with Salford Youth Zone to help them recruit for a new Employability & Projects Manager to join their vibrant team.
Empower Youth Zones is the charity that oversees the creation, management and sustainability of both HideOut in Gorton, Manchester, and Salford Youth Zone (SYZ) in Pendleton, Salford. This is an incredibly exciting time for the network as SYZ gets ready to open it's doors to the public in the summer of 2025!
Open 7 days a week, the Youth Zones offer a free hot meal and over 20 activities every night for just 50p per visit for young people aged 8-19 and up to 25 with an additional needs. Their incredible facilities include a 3G pitch, climbing wall, gym, sports hall and recreation area, and dance, arts, music, and media suites.
Job Title: Employability & Projects Manager
Reports to: Deputy Youth Work Manager
Salary: £26,278 - £28,423
Working Pattern: Full Time, Permanent
Location: Salford Youth Zone (Pendleton)
In this exciting role you will have the opportunity to establish and shape SYZ's employability and enterprise offering. Working with their partners, patrons, external organisations, training providers and other key stakeholders, you will provide young people with the opportunities to to reach their goals. Whether this is through exploring their interests, empowering them to gain new skills, or through experience and accreditations/qualifications through a diverse programme of activities - you will be the one to make it happen!
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Experience of managing relationships with external organisations such as schools, job fairs, corporate partners etc.
- Demonstrable experience of working in the youth setting and ideally delivering youth work programmes.
- Experience of report writing (monitoring and evaluation processes)
- The ability to establish good professional relationships with young people, adults and partner agencies/organisations
- Excellent communication skills to deliver activity programmes to a wide range of young people
- The ability to coordinate and deliver fun accessible activities that teach life skills, employability skills and basic business principles (e.g. profit margins)
