As a result, SaveMoneyCutCarbon are in a significant growth phase and we are recruiting ambitious and driven individuals to join our team to lead and grow our tech hubs that when all combined provide our clients a true “one stop shop” to reduce their energy, water & carbon.
The Solar business unit is the last one looking for an entrepreneurial leader to take the foundations we have built and our unique customer acquisition model and to shape take it to the next level, on a trajectory to being a multi-million, go to leader of commercial solar across the UK.
The focus is on commercial scale roof and ground mount solar arrays, along with battery systems our clients range from prestigious names in the retail and hospitality markets, to local authorities and SMEs, with our partnership process we have a significant and constantly expanding client base.
Main Purpose of Role
We are looking for an energetic, experienced, professional individual but with an entrepreneurial bent, someone who has electrical or project management experience in the solar world. Maybe you have thought about running your own solar business or has already tried it but have been caught in the feed in tariff and market cycles, but still have a hunger to play in the sector. What we can offer you is a role in a growing company where your opinion counts so you can focus on the growing the solar business unit and let us worry about the less exciting bits, like finance, HR, cash flow etc. A self-motivated solutions-based leader who can effectively grow this like it was their own business; shaping the offering end to end, lead follow up, proposal creation, sales, client management through to successful project management and commissioning. You will do this by becoming a trusted advisor, providing direction & insight to win business for long term net-zero programmes.
The successful candidate will have the presence to operate at all levels including senior C- level executives, be a great listener, and have a track record of winning new business
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will live in the East Anglia / Midlands area however, hybrid working would be acceptable in this role.
You must also be comfortable creating and operating under a tight schedule to meet project deadlines, while handling several projects simultaneously. Expectations include interfacing with clients, DNOs, buildings, public officials, project managers, and teammates, in a professional capacity, in order to bring designs, permits, and projects to timely completion.
You must have extensive knowledge of PV mounting systems (both roof top and ground mount). Experience with system sizes between 50 KW to 500KW is preferred anything 1+MW is a distinct advantage.
Knowledge of one or more of the industry standard design platforms would be an advantage, this could include SolarEdge, Huawei site designer, PVsyst, EasyPV, PV*SOL, etc.
Key Accountabilities
- Create a mini business plan for the solar business unit.
- Identify new business opportunities and follow up existing leads & drive new sales business.
- Develop & implement a business & sales strategy to enhance the growth of our core business in line with agreed revenue & targets.
- Identify opportunities, capture value and win deals.
- Drive increased revenue & profit to achieve the Company’s ambitious growth plans in the UK.
- Build strong relationships to become a credible trusted advisor to our clients.
- Attend conferences and events.
- Creating accurate sales forecasts and actively working towards them
- Good interpersonal skills- ability to work across the business with various stakeholders.
- Managing a sales pipeline from lead generation to close, clearly articulating the sales proposition.
- Developing, maintaining & reporting on a pipeline through the CRM (Hubspot)
- Production & assessment of prospects current and proposed energy and engineering baselines.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Entrepreneurial self-starter, with existing experience in energy, renewables & energy savings or electrical installation, design & contracting / project management linked to commercial solar
- Strong business development background
- Experience of solution/consultative selling & building bespoke value propositions with customers across a complex range of technology & solutions
- Have experience in developing solutions and building business cases to close sales with C-level clients.
- Desirable experience selling solutions with deal sizes £50K plus.
- Experience of influencing and developing relationships at varying levels within businesses both internally & externally
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills & attention to detail.
- A passion for, or an interest in the Sustainability sector
- Self- motivated & results focussed with a drive to succeed.
- Strong commercial acumen, interpersonal and communication skills
