Position:
This is a onshore depot based role at MREs main HQ.
The Equipment Supervisor/Technician will assume a role reporting to the MRE Generator & Equipment Manager, with involvement in a range of activities including generator deployment, all maintenance, works and assembly of generator pods and preparation of project equipment packages. Involvement in all aspects of operational equipment’s maintenance and lifecycle.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and process the preparation of Project Equipment Requirements.
- Supervise the preparation, efficiency and dispatch quality of rental generators and associated equipment.
- Produce accurate reports on dispatched and returned equipment.
- Carry out Pre-Delivery Inspections on generating sets, ensuring perfect operation of all aspects prior to dispatch.
- Keep accurate records of equipment, maintenance requirements, spares and materials.
- Supervise sub-contractor labour to ensure sufficient personnel and time is allocated to meet project dispatch deadlines.
- Identify and plan works in a methodical manner to meet equipment dispatch targets.
- Identify and keep records of any required stocks, spares or replacement parts required for use at the depot.
- Liaise with logistics team to ensure correct transport is booked and ordered.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications and experience in maintaining and carrying out repairs of diesel engines and associated electrical systems.
- Minimum three-years’ experience in engineering or with standby generator and electrical system repair.
- Ability to work on and understand standby generators from 20kVA – 500kVA.
- Ability to diagnosis faults on generator engines and associated 12/24V electrical systems.
- Ability to carry out modifications and incorporate additions to generator control systems.
- Carry out minor and major services to diesel engine generator sets.
- Attention to detail with proven ability to fault find, organise and plan own workload.
- Good knowledge and experience of assembly based works and procedures.
- Having a high analytic and inquisitive nature.
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to think problems through logically.
- A calm and professional manner.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Confident interpersonal communication skills are important as well as being a team player along with the ability to work with all levels of seniority within the business.
- Understanding of IT and computers for reports, records and company correspondence requirements.
Other information:
Salary will depend on experience with 25 days holiday + bank holidays a year, pension, discount voucher scheme. Full time 38 hr week. Full training & support will be provided where necessary and appropriate.
