Job Description

You will work closely in a small, dynamic team to ensure the Agency is compliant with relevant environmental legislation, meets its environmental targets and manages its resources in a sustainable manner.

You will report to the Senior Sustainability and Environment Manager and will play a key part in supporting and managing initiatives to achieve environmental and financial benefits to DVLA in line with our strategic objectives and targets.

We will also look to you to monitor the generic mailbox, promptly responding to queries whilst also working collaboratively with team colleagues and stakeholders to ensure quality, timescales and standards are met.

You will need to be a proficient user in Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

Managing the Agency’s ISO14001 documentation. Helping to maintain the agency’s ISO14001 accreditation including monitoring compliance, performing and organising audits, maintaining records and reviewing update of documents and management of the environmental management system.
Assuring procurement, estate and operational functions at the Agency consider sustainability and environmental issues and that they help achieve the Agency’s targets.
Support analysis of agency environmental data to identify trends and anomalies and use that analysis to work with Sustainability and Environmental Managers to ensure that all environmental data and initiatives are being effectively managed in line with policy, legislation and agreed procedure and assisting the agency in achieving its environmental targets.
Providing administrative support to the wider sustainability team including management of the shared inbox and minute taking for meetings.

Person specification

We would love someone to join us who can build rapport quickly with key stakeholders both internally and externally and enjoys working collaboratively with people at all levels.

You will have strong communication skills and can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. You can deliver information in a clear, confident and professional manner.

You will have excellent organisational skills, effectively prioritising and planning your work, allowing you to deliver targets to tight deadlines, as well as managing multiple work streams.

You will have the ability to gather and analyse data, identifying trends to support decision making.

You will be a team player with the ability to work on your own initiative and have a keen willingness to learn.

This interview will be conducted on site at DVLA, Swansea. Further details of which will be provided to you should you be selected for interview.
