Product Engineer - Electric Vehicles - Oxfordshire - £35k to £50k
One of my key clients in the EV Sector based in Oxfordshire is recruiting for an Engineering focussed Product Engineer. The ideal candidate has a passion for EV's / Cars with a background in Engineering.
The Product Manager will play a key role in defining, refining, and developing current and future product lines and vehicle types. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a passion for contemporary classics and iconic vehicles combined with exceptional analytical abilities, a strong grasp of product and project management principles, and a proven track record of success in product management.

Key Skills & Experience:
- Relevant qualifications in automotive-related disciplines (engineering, design, product development, marketing, etc.).
- Proven experience in manufacturing or the automotive industry; product management knowledge is a plus.
- Exceptional analytical skills to interpret complex data and provide clear recommendations.
- Keen attention to detail applied across all aspects of the role.
- Self-motivated and independent, capable of managing projects from conception to delivery with thorough documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to effectively liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated project leadership abilities, delivering multi-disciplinary packages of work.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to drive business growth through creative thinking.
- Proficiency with common software packages for project management and data processing/presentation.
- Understanding of agile, scrum, and lean management techniques is advantageous
Key Responsibilities:
New Product Analysis:
- Gather market and user requirements and translate them into product specifications.
- Document key vehicle performance attributes for engineering development.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify gaps and opportunities.
- Collect feedback on existing products and collaborate with internal teams for improvements.
- Analyse new product proposals for compliance with regulatory requirements and product strategy.
Product Business Case Management:
- Create proposals for product development opportunities.
- Conduct feasibility studies and develop individual product proposals.
- Consult with production and engineering teams on feasibility and integration.
- Collaborate with key suppliers and partners to develop and implement product attributes.
Product Delivery and Risk Management:
- Create and manage product roadmaps.
- Drive internal approval process and resourcing for product design and development.
- Coordinate with external suppliers from concept to delivery and validation.
- Identify and address potential areas of product vulnerability.
- Ensure products meet regulatory and customer standards.
Product Leadership:
- Serve as the expert for all product model lines.
- Manage vehicle spec sheets, costings, and customer-facing materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product objectives.
- Provide guidance to departmental managers on product matters.
- Create documentation for build teams covering installation, BoM, and pricing.
- Conduct product review and development sessions with the team.
- Support marketing, product placement activities, and key events.
